Carthage ultimately suffered from economic as well as territorial losses, political, autonomy and especially loss of lives. Rome imposed war reparations on Carthage. It also included annual tribute of many talents of silver for fifty years.

Romans also lost over 3, 00,000 soldiers, during the warfare, which included farms and other establishments in Italy which was also destructed as the result of war. Rome not only became the master of Italy but also of Africa, Greece and Spain. The continuous low level war persisted between Numidia and Carthage, but by the time of Third Punic War, Carthage almost l9st most of the African regions and Numidians then traded independently with Greeks.
