It is an online community which produces all the documentations, tools, methodologies which comes under the field of web application security. It was first started on september 9 2001 by mark curphey. The OWASP organization received SC Magazine Editor choice award. Under the OWASP there is a project called OWASP ZAP is a open source web application scanner. These can be used by the users who are new to the application security etc.,It is like charitable organization focused on improving mostly on security. The top vulnerabilities from the OWASP are injection, broken authentication, sensitive data exposure, XML external entities, broken access control, security misconfigurations, cross site scripting, insecure deserialization. The leaders in OWASP are responsible for making decisions about technical direction, project priorities, schedule, and releases.
