In relation to satellite communication, Can the same frequency be used for uplink and downlink communication? Justify answer. Why parabolic antennas are used for satellite comunication? What is the minimum numbers of satellite that we need in the orbit to cover transmission to and reception from all over the earth
Plz upvote.
No, frequency is not same for uplink and downlink communication because in satellite, uplink frequency is higher than the downlink frequency. The main reasons why uplink frequencies is higher than download is rain attenuation.
Rain attenuation has a relate directly to transmitted frequency, the higher the frequency, the bigger rain attenuation is. Remember, higher frequency needs more power consumption and providing power is easier for the earth stations.
Parabolic antenna conduct higher directivity. It provides accurate communication. parabolic antenna gain can be as high as 30 to 40 dB.normal antenna can't achieve this range.
According to GEO, There are minimum 3 satellites required to cover the entire area.
But for LEO, we need more satellites.
According to research, Four satellites must be visible from any point on the planet and the satellites are arranged into six orbital planes.
