Many professors have a policy that punishes individuals if the don’t come to class. Instead of punishing students who do not attend class, what could professors do to provide a positive incentive to come to class?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Professors can do the following tasks to provide students positive incentive to come to class:

  • Award credit scores to students on their positive behaviors like performing well, coming in time, helping othe students.
  • Each year dustribute stamps to students to the end of term. this may be to a trip or a party, or for The Prom. Students can be given stamps in order to get an invitation to this treat and stamps given for positive behaviour
  • Getting the students on class board seems to be the most important aspect. Write names of students who do well in class and are regular in their works on weekly basis and make them and other students think that they will be praised in similar ways.
  • Be the Example. Start your class on time. You can't begin late and request that the students appear on time. When you begin class late you make students to do likewise behavior because they learn what they see.
  • Reward Early Arrivals. Give feedback, and remunerate the students to arrive before the actual time set up for class by having a short task on the load up. The task can be finished before class starts, for example, a video they can watch on their telephone, a blog article to peruse, or an Instagram record to turn upward. For all students who arrive sooner than required, they can finish their short tasks before class starts and get 5 additional credit focuses on their tests.
  • Late Students Sit in the Back. Leave a couple of seats void in the back for late comers. Try not to stop what you are doing to get them up to speed, essentially let them come in and sit in back.
