What is additive strategies and provide a thorough example applying this strategy. Also, what is elimination by aspects and provide a thorough example applying this strategy.
The additive strategy is a type of decision making method. In this method, all the possible solutions are analyzed and identified as a good or bad i.e. given a score and then after that compared so that best solution can be chose to make the decision. For example- If I want to buy a laptop, then I will make a list of all the features that I need in my laptop, and then rate every option as -4 to +4. Laptops which have important advantage will get +4 and those having drawbacks will get -4. After this compare and then choose the option having highest rating.
Elimination by Aspects – It is also a type of decision making. It is used when multiple options are available. This method identifies the single attribute which is most important for the decision maker, then when the option is being chosen does not fit into the criteria as per the discoing maker, it is eliminated. For example- If I have to buy a laptop, first thing which I need is good processor; I will eliminate the options which do not have good processor. Similarly, other attributes will be checked and eliminated and at the last only best option will be left to make the choice.
