Exley Chemical company is a firm specialised in manufacturing
plastics, industrial chemicals and customer products. Although the
sales of the company has grown but the profit has been lately
average. There are numerous reasons for this downfall but the major
one is counted because of internal conflicts among the workers in
the company. Other reasons that count account for such are are the
the growing industrialization which tend to introduce products more
efficiently in less time, poor leadership and staff management etc.
The managers must find out ways to resolve the internal conflicts
and make them work diligently.
Internal conflicts are known in every company but what matters is
how the managers step forward to resolve these inevitably without
disturbing the the atmosphere of the company. The reasons for such
is disobedience lack of clarity in goals, non seriousness
etc.
Conflicts were observed in almost every department for one or the
other reasons. Some specialised people of sales and marketing work
given the responsibility to conduct a pilot marketing program which
was highly opposed by the marketing officials. Due to this the
company set the product manager for each group of products which
give rise to further quarrels. Secondly the product development
group gave the company the wrong information of the sales estimates
of the products and did it in their own way. The third and the most
important was the company's ignorant attitude towards the
suggestions and the feedback of the customers. The feedback of the
people and the competition created by other companies in comparison
to the products was highly ignored due to which the company got
low. The company's work ethics and environment is highly reflected
in the products they produce does it not only touches the
boundaries of the firm but also reaches out to the customers. Exley
general environment is very simple and sorted. The manufacturing
depends upon Innovation and ideas. Exley was observed to have a
moderate competition but a very high pressure on the profits it
gained. Chemical industry demand constant ideas and innovations
from highly knowledged people to stand in the market. Airport the
threat of the substitute products is very high and the customer
demands are also soaring due to which the consumer show willingness
towards a similar product at a lower price. The company is is
facing threats from the rivalry competitions as well as the
customers. The company's ethics practically changed when the
departments instead of passing the products to their respectable
suppliers of the market started introducing them on their own. It
was the lack of communication and disobedience reflected in these
acts. The major problem in Exley lies in its organisational
structure which is of a matrix type. Its designs involved in the
address space industry which changed with the customer demands
handmade the managers focus on the project objectives and adequate
systems of resources. It could be a major boost to the company but
it rather showed the negative consequences. It could not balance
between the product and the functional forms , the inconsistency in
managing affairs and conflicts. For the success of this matrix
organizational pattern there must be an outside pressure for the
creation of new products so that the the array of innovations and
ideas never steps. Secondly the company must focus on the the
external demands of the customers and the feedbacks. Third being
the responsible attitude towards the utilisation of resources for
producing goods. With the scarcity of resources and huge amount of
public demand the company should be able to manage with the minimal
usage of of resources there after producing the required quantity
alongside without compromising with the quality of the goods.
As for conclusion the organizational structure needs no no changes
but the the affairs between the workers and the managers should be
resolved so as to maintain peace. Also the characteristics of
disobedience, lack of honesty and dominance should be eradicated
for the company to work smoothly.
