Discuss the importance of an organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategies.
An organization's mission, vision, values, and strategies play an important role in forming the culture of the organization and influences the structure of the organization. While a company that focuses sharply on results would give more emphasis to a rigid structure, while others are focused on employees and their benefits which makes it people-oriented and leads to the implementation of a more flexible structure. The elements of the vision, mission often point towards what kind of structure the management wants to implement in the company.
This structure defines the culture the organization has. For example, in an adaptive culture, the focus is on a continuous change to ensure that the organization remains successful in the long run. While relying on a single culture won't be helpful for a longer period, therefore, the companies must focus on finding a balance between various cultures and adopt them to evolve with the environment.
In this regard, Google is one of the best examples. The company has a flexible culture that allows it to evolve with the changing trends and growth of the company. This has helped the company in staying as one of the top companies int the industry.
