The aim if the primary education in Ghana: John Dewey says, to have an aim is to act with meaning, not to act like and automatic machine, but to do something and to perceive the meaning of things in the light of that purpose. The aim of the primary education are:

  • To bring an all-round development of the child so that he can suite himself with the society.
  • To impart the basic knowledge of Education, Society and the the environment surrounding him.
  • The most important aim of the primary education is to build character and habit in the children so that they can be a responsible citizen in future.
  • To arouse a sense of interest to them so that they are interested to continue their study and to settle the aim of their life in future.
  • To make the children aware about the national and cultural identities and to make them aware about social norms and various traditions existed in the society.

The aim of the secondary education in Ghana: The purpose of Secondary Education is different from the primary education. Secondary education is the for the advancement of the primary education. In this level the children are made aware about various jobs in life and they are also made aware what type of job they want to take. On the other hand the secondary education imparts cooperation and group Psychology in the students. They are more aware about the society and surroundings. They grow if things are nationalism and internationalism. They are taught the national history and the international history to know about the past. The secondary education is the first step to the student to open many fields of study. One can take vocational education after finishing the secondary education.

In the field of Technology Ghana is still in backward position. Therefore various steps have been taken in the secondary education level to increase the vocational education in the children so that there would not be any shortage of skilled workers in the field of industry.

The purpose of the tertiary education: The purpose of the tertiary education in Ghana is to to enhance the quality of education in the country. Its purpose is to develop education in the field of technology and higher education. Many new Universities and colleges have been established in Ghana to facilitate higher education to the students. Along with the college and Universities many engineering college also have been set up there so that people can get education and it is also the purpose of governor to increase highly educated people and the students in the field of Technology.
