With the kind of accessibility to information that digital media affords in the present-day world, is it alright to say that students would be better off if they are home-schooled?
No, it is not alright to say that the students would be better off if they are home-schooled.
Reasons are following:
(1)Homeschooling can lead to frustrations in kids as they can't enjoy school and make new friends.
(2)This can sometimes make kids go into depression as they have no or minimal interactions outside their home.
(3)Even sometimes parents are not able to give entire attention to kids in homeschooling. At that time they may lag behind in studies.
(4)Some of the developmental aspects of children can only be achieved in outside schools such as traditional schools focus on overall development of child. They just not only teach academic subjects but also sports, music, arts, group discussion etc. These aspects make a child complete.
(5)Though digital media provides most of the information to the child at home but still the confidence in child can be achieved only in traditional schools.
(6)Social interactions as well as social learning aspects are covered only in the traditional schools. These are the major limitations of homeschooling with the help of digital media.
