Democracy means where people has a right to chose their leader, and when we talk about legitimacy of democracies than it depends on government to give equal rights. There should be no discrimination between caste, gender, creed, sect. Democracy is formed by the people and given them equal status, like right to vote, to to live, freedom , to move where ever they want. This all denote legitimacy of democracies.
In democratic country voting power is given to people, and they have the right to chose their leader. Citizen of the country vote in a democratic country so that they can form a governing body who can tackle their problems like poverty, education , health, etc etc. The election process in legitimizing democracies is that citizen of the country will chose the leader. Take an exampel of North Korea it does not look like democratic country, as their leader is always the same and family is running the throne. But in democratic country government change, leaders change and there is no king. In legit democratic country every citizen has equal rights, and government change.
