Expert Solution

Method and work measurement analysts are techniques designed to ascertain as to how much time on an average will be required by a average worker to complete the desired manufacturing job function.

It is the measurement of all the movements, handling and physical work that the worker needs to perfom in order to complete the job work in hand. The study enables us to ascertain and point out the un necessary steps that the worker has to perfom in order to complete the job in hand and then the effeciency of the performance of the worker can be improved by eliminating or redesigning the key elements for a more effecient performance in less time and effort consumend for the worker. '

This approach comes in very handy in optimising the operations of the manufacturing sector by eliminating the un necessary time couynsuming activities.

Hence, As the question desires,

Methods and Work Measurement Analysts should select: the best suited tools and techniques that should reduce the total time involved in completing a routine task on a shop floor with least un necessary movement by studying Time Study, Activity Sampling, employing predetermined motion time systems, analytical and comparitive estimating.
