For each scenario listed below, indicate how you would handle the situation.
Scenario 1: a car 16-year-old Hispanic driver was in a car accident and is unconscious. You read in her personal information; her mother is a stay at home mom. Her father works at local busy accounting firm. Both of their phone numbers are listed. Who do you call first and why?
Scenario 2: You are in a consult discussing a serious medical condition with a couple. The woman has a serious illness. The man is doing all talking. Looking at her, she seems to have questions/information that is important to her, only she won’t speak up. What would you do and why?
Scenario 3: Given a family, the mom older and the dad passed. There are 3 siblings: a girl who is 42, a boy who is 38, and a girl who is 35. Who do you think will be in charge of making medical decisions about the mother and why?
Scenario 1.according to me the father should be informed first. Men have better control over their emotions. They are quick to act, to take decision and they can tolretae any kind of stress to a little extend on the other hand if we call the mother, she will waste the time in crying.. If it is unable to contact father after repeated times then I may consider calling the mother.
Scenario 2.we have two options to do. Either we can ask the men stop talking for a while and ask the women to clarify her queries or we can take her to a separate room and provide a better platform to clarify her queries. She will be receptive to the second one because she can be free to express herself.
Scenario 3. If the husband was alive, he will be the only one person to decide. But here the husband has passed away. She has 3 children. All are adults and have crossed the age of 35, each of them are capable to make independent decisions and choices. But here in the scenario it should be the son to decide, because, the daughters would have been probably got married and they lead a different life. It is the son who takes care of the mother and meet all her needs. So it should his decision or in simple, whoever is taking care of the mother, should take the decision.
