a: Suggest one or more ways to introduce menarche/menstruation as positive to menstruating people.
b: Suggest one or more ways to introduce menarche/menstruation as positive to people who may not typically experience menstruation.
Ans a)To make menarche/menstruation positive for girls, parents or teachers need to have a talk with them about the topic even before they start menstruating. They need to understand that there is nothing to freak out, nothing embarrassing about it. It is normal and required for healthy body functions. It gives the ability to bear children. One may take help from books to explain physiology or relate with the sex education, the child receive at school.
b) For non menstruating people i.e boys, understanding that a girl experiencing menstruation is normal and not a taboo. Sex education in schools can help them understand this in a good way. The queries of children when they see blood spots or advertisements related to sanitary pads should not be avoided. Instead they should be told in a proper and scientific way about it. They should be told that puberty cause changes not only in boys but also in girls and boys these changes are healthy and nothing embarrassing and taboo.
