Choose a job in your field from one of the job search sites. Using Word, describe how you would network to get the position you chose. Submit to the Job Search and Networking Folder below.

Answer: My field is “Project Engineering & Management” and I am searching job in LinkedIn (Job search site). I have explained my network approach for the position of “Project Manager”. My favored location is Seattle since I am presently employed in this city.

· Job search by emerging contacts in same field: Emerging contact on LinkedIn is easy. I used to search the people who are working my preferred field. The study of their profile can give me an awareness to move onward in good outline. I used to send them a connection request to have messenger conversation with them (they can do conversation if they accepted my connection request). My aim here is to know more about them, their profile and their company’s profile.

· Job search by developing contacts with Human resource managers (HR managers): The HR managers are the one who recognizes about the position well. They know the position is closed or still opened for an application. After they connects with me as a connection, the best method approach them is “request mail”. The least preferred method is “chatting” with them over LinkedIn messenger.

· Searching school alumni on Job network: The school alumni are more helpful to get the job because their study field is same as yours. Another factor is, they have a special bonding with you by means of native place.

· Network with upscale profile people (GM, VP, MD etc.): The upscale profile people are mostly in the need of correct resources but they do not have time to search. Also they are dependent on the HR managers to get right candidate. Contacting them through Job search website can boost the probability to get hired.

· Request to Refer on Job website (through post): I will be requesting to a higher position people I knows for provide their endorsement to my profile in LinkedIn. These people may me my ex-boss, my present director, my school alumni etc.

· Have a strong reference in resume

· Social networking: Sometimes I may post my LinkedIn profile link on Facebook. I will be doing this for those who are not on LinkedIn.

· Relative’s help to refer in their organization: I will be asking my relatives to refer me if their company is running any referral program.
