Hypertension is one of the lifestyle diseases seen in majority of people around the world. The major causes of hypertension include high fat and salt containing food, use of Caffeine in excess, lack of exercise, alcohol consumption, tobacco use, stress and genetics.
Hypertension can be controlled by modifications in the lifestyle habits such as changing food habits, improving physical activities, avoiding use of alcohol and tobacco.
Nutritional perspectives to reduce hypertension include
Hypertension can be controlled with medications along with healthy food habits and exercise. Only drugs can not reduce hypertension and its effects. The dietary management by avoiding high sodium, saturated fats, and sugar and including healthy eating habits are key for the management of hypertension.
