The changes to Congress in the last 50 years that have affected the congressional work the most are as follows:
1. From the congressional 106th session, the number of female senators and the representative has increased significantly with 9 and 58 members respectively. This has helped the females to come up with the issues and hurdles that woman face.
2. Furthermore, in the past 50 years, the number of representatives from various ethnic minorities and representatives from African American communities have increased considerably. The issues and problems that the ethnic communities and minorities are now addressed.
3. In the past 50 years, the number of representatives and senators are re-elected and this tendency has increased over the years. This has helped the congress members to concentrate more on their work and consistency.
4. The members of congress also receive the perks that have increased over 50 years and they even get to set their salaries. This has helped the congressmen to focus more on their responsibilities.
