1. The ability to adapt to a changing environment will often dictate the success or failure of a team. Why it is important to develop team members?
For a team, the entire aspect of considerations for its formation is based on the presence of a problem that needs to be solved. In this way, teams can be considered to be specialized in its assumptions and therefore, team members would need to be cross-functional to play their role in the team;s success.
The ability to change and adapt, especially in the presence of external influence is necessary to bring a better perspective to how the team functions. With inflexible members, the team is bound to focus on its current capabilities more than what can be developed if they were to adapt to the changes and it leads to a suboptimal outlook, especially in the long term when sustainability is considered.
It is necessary to develop the team members so that a
consolidated effort can be achieved that brings the best of the
team to the forefront, letting the members with certain
capabilities cover for the weaknesses of the others. By training
them to respond to changes proactively, we tend to create autonomy,
encourage the use of creativity and lead to an overall better
approach to dealing with the changes.
