(Answer) Let us assume that there is a mid-sized office in a small town. Due to a bad economic climate, the boss wished to frighten the employees into working harder and increase the company’s revenue.
The boss decides to spread a false rumour that the employee with the poorest performance would get sacked from the company. After this rumour spreads, the employees begin to work twice as hard. Furthermore, to ensure that they are not the one being fired, each of them decide to tell the boss how some employees have made mistakes in the past.
In this way, the boss gets his employees to work hard, he finds out their true flaws and the rumour about downsizing was a misinformation.
