Recommended interventions for the Jacques family:
Psychoeducation - Parallel and Group:
Psychoeducation sessions that happen separately as well as collectively for the members of the family is proven to be effective. The evidence is collected in focus groups nad there is a constant comparison between data sets.
Other than this, observations and interviews are also effective in getting to mitigate the trauma of the abuse.
Communication improvement activities:
Research theories such as grounded research and action research are helful to improve the communication patterns and styles between parent and child. Evidence is collected as part of focus groups.
Play therapy: For children aged under ten, play groups are effective and help gain insights. The evidences are collected as part of participant observation.
Peer support groups:
Peer support groups offer support and assistance and are effective in having a good understanding of where they stand in terms of treatment and what can be done to improve the stance.
Long term intervention:
This is effective when abuse is identified early on and can be used to avoid and prevent any future abuse.
Placement services:
In the case of extreme abuse, placement services are effective. They help in treatment and effective rehabilitation and offer support.
