Chapter-2 is THE NATURE OF SOCIAL POLICY. social policy is concerned with both overall welfare and also about how welfare or well-being is distributed among different groups according to important facets of life, such as health, education, income and employment. Individual is the prime concern here. It believes in the principle of self-determination on the part of the individual and the cause for any failure is attributed solely to him and not to the social system of which he is a part.

Two policies that are noted in chapter 2 are "INSURANCE and HEALTHCARE LAW". Insurance provides economic growth and encourage in development. The impact of Insurance policy is huge on my life because insurance protects us from the everyday risks of life. Through insurance policy i can live a little hectic free life, for an instance.... i own a car which has insurance...if god forbid i wreck my car in any road accident or if someone stoles my car than i wont be worried...because the insurance money i am paying to the insurance company, will cover all the expenses. If the case is car-stolen, than the insurance company will provide me a new car of the same brand and model. Second policy is healthcare law....Healthcare policy involves the creation and implementation of laws, rules, and regulations for managing nation's healthcare system. The healthcare system consists of services provided by medical professionals to diagnose, treat, and prevent mental and physical illness and injury. Impact of this policy on my life is totally positive..as it aims to provide better medical facilities when in need.
