- Recall a recent argument or misunderstanding you have had about memory (for example, you remember your significant other agreeing to do something but your significant other does not remember agreeing to do it). In light of what you have just learned about memory, how do you think about it?
There have been many misconceptions about memory all these years. These misconceptions arise because of the complex nature of our brain thatbis continously changing . One of those misconceptions are that our memory is photographic and records every details about any subject. It was also believed that the accuracy of the details remain in our memory forever. These have been falsified and it has been found that our memories does not remember everything with detail or some details can be missed, infact people can also remember things that never actually happened. It has been found thatemories are influenced by our emotions, thoughts and awareness. It's interesting to know that every time we remember things we remember what we remembered last and not the original memory, hence this keeps our memories manipulating. Even the confident eyewitness of a crime scene can be wrong about their memories. This is how complicated our memories are.
