Discuss how your analysis would differ if you were asked to solve a performance problem vs. being directed to develop a course to address a specific training issue.
My analysis would differ if I were asked to solve a performance problem vs. being directed to develop a course to address a specific training issue;
In trying to solve a performance problem we will evaluate the performance in terms of timely completion of the target job, cost-effectiveness and the quality of work that was done. However, if I have to develop a course to address a specific training issue Perform a Training Needs Assessment; in which I will;
Identify a clear business goal that the training supports
Determine the tasks the workers need to perform so the company can reach that goal
Determine the training activities that will help the workers learn to perform the tasks
Determine the learning characteristics of the workers that will make the training more effective.
After identifying the business goal, I will determine the tasks workers need to perform, determine the training activities that will help workers learn to perform the tasks, determine characteristics of workers that will make the training more effective. Develop the Training Materials. Implement the Training and finally Evaluate the Training.
The analysis of performance problem will be targeted at finding the causes behind poor performance.
The analysis develops a course to address a specific training issue will be directed at finding the factors that can contribute to the success of the training course and finding risk factors that contribute to its failure.
