She is an American psychologist. Her area of working is cognitive psychology. She is an expert of human memory. She is specially known for her work on "misinformation". She talks about semantic memory. She has a view that the facts in which we have our all faith may not be completely true. This is known as misinformation. Accumulations of such wrong information may lead to creation of false memories.
Suppose there is a person who had seen a girl running in a jacket full of blood stains. She was running because she was helping an injured person on road. She was running to nearby telephone booth to make arrangements for ambulance.
That person had seen that girl and assumed that she killed the person on road. He had watched the running girl while driving his car. Now, He makes an wrong image and does not stops his car. He reaches to police station and explains the incident according to his views.
So in this case the information passed is full of wrong and faulty details. Such faulty stories may lead to misinformation. These types of misinformation may change into false memories.
Hence critical analysis of any situation is must before reaching to a concrete conclusion. Improper evaluation of incidents may create anarchy. It may create problems for those who are innocent.
