Policies and procedures of EHR are:

1) Patients control over the data:

This point states that your records should have every data related to your patients who have entered your hospital as it will play as proof later on in case of any emergency. You need to have patience data with them as it will health patients get better care and treatment.

2) Secured Systems:

This point states that the data related to the patients are very crucial and important and it is the responsibility of the hospitals to protect those data from various hackers and people as it can become a danger for the patient. In order to protect the information, the hospital should have secured systems with them so that no one could enter in those records and don't try to steal them from the systems of the hospitals.

3) Backups:

This point states that sometimes, due to server down or any other issue the electronic health records can face the issue of showing recorded data which can become an issue. To overcome this problem, the hospitals should have offline backups in their computers so that in case of server down or data loss they still have the data with them safe and secured.

4) Updating on a regular basis:

This point states that electronic health records should be updated regularly so that the hospital should have the necessary data and information about their patients with them. This will help them to know about their patient and their background as well. Updating records should be done daily so that they should not mix the information of different patients with each other.
