In 2013, Idalia Hernández Ramos, a middle school teacher in Mexico, was a victim of cyber harassment. After discovering that one of her students tweeted some harmful tweets and called the teacher Hernández names,Hernández confronted the girl during a lesson on social media etiquette. Inquiring why the girl would post such hurtful messages that could harm the teacher’s reputation, the student meekly replied that she was upset at the time. The teacher responded that she was very upset by the student’s actions. Demanding a public apology in front of the class, Hernández stated that she would not allow “young brats” to call her those names. Hernández uploaded a video of this confrontation online, attracting much attention.

Social media is an online platform which helps persons interconnect with each other.Websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking.

Just as a ruler has both opposite ends Social media is both boon or bane and pros and cons.

As a boon:

Social media has facilitated a lot in reshaping communication industry and redefining the ways in which we communicate and express ourselves.

It engages people constantly and accumulates everyone in some or the other trending activity etc..

As a bane:

As per 2017 statistics,a person spends an average of 135minutes per day on social media.It is distracting for everyone and especially the younger generation.They are always glued to their mobiles,tablets,computers.

It results in health risk issues.

In my opinion, Using social media in right way sustain our development in strenghtening knowledge.It should not use in such a way that hurts other life which sometimes end up with committing suicide.Moreover cyber harassment is a crime which when caught will be highly punished.

The MAIN CAUSE is misuse of social media.
