Hip-Hop in Cuba assignment
In the film Inventos, Hip-Hop Cubano, one artist states that for
many of those engaged in hip-hop, it is not a Cuban culture but an
African culture. What is it about hip-hop that causes these
individuals to identify it as African, but not Cuban? Think about
the construction of contemporary hip-hop in Cuba as described in
the film and the Fernández article and the
socio-historic/socioeconomic conditions of those engaged.
