In your own words discuss the following:
Providers must learn new tools to eliminate disparities, build trust with patients, and understand how international biases and pre-established stereotypes affect quality of care. What are some factors that identifies and defines various tools and measurements that can be used to measure the effectiveness of diversity programs and policies established by the organization.
How do each of the following must be considered when considering how to implement an environment of diversity:
a) Industry and company ethical codes.
b) Tension between personal standards and the goals of the organization.
Any organization aiming for highest level of care can be successful only if they follow certain ethics and standards of care ultimately providing effective and quality treatment without any bias or prejudice. Considering the care of patients without any disparity six main factors should be follwed while designing tools to improve diversity programs and policies of the organization.
They are:
1) Providing adequate safe practices for patient care
2)Prevent delays to the patient so that they might receive appropriate care on time.
3) Providing effective treatment based on proper assessment and the need.
4)Providing equity in care without any discrimination.
5) Be patient centred as this will help to provide an effective treatment to the patients.
6) Being efficient in understanding the appropriate care for the patients without wasting time and resources.
1) In an Industry the success of an organization depends on the ethical values of the company and they are also affected when the above factors are compromised.
For example,
If the company doesn't provide a friendly work environment it might effect the employees by imposing undue pressure which can cost the performance of the company. Similarly, being punctual , efficient and being goal oriented will give positive results to the organization . The efficacy also depends on the fair treatment of the employees and valuing the efforts of each member.
2)There can be conflicting issues regarding the organizations goals . The individual might feel that he does not 'fit' into the the standards due to differences in cultural, ethnicity,religion etc which can itself create conflicts. However the organization must work on removing these differences and creating a positive, efficient work environment in a view of better quality of work and increased productivity so that the employees and the organization can be goal oriented.
