Expert Solution

The term supranational is used when many countries joints hands together and become one territory . In this system the all countries are counted as one and are lead by one government who decides for all of them. In short supranationalism means the nationalism followed by all the all those countries coming together to become one.

Many times the single government is not able to take decision or is not able to run the country in the time of crises. Therefore forming these unions with other countries give a backup to the host country in running the government.

European Government agree to form supranational communities:

  • When there is vast destruction and devastation the economy of the country is under developed . In order to make it developing and developed the countries comes together and joints and to become one. This helps the countries to take care of each other and completing as a whole.
  • The one of reason why European formed this association was due to lack in manpower. In the world war there were around 50 million deaths calculated resulting in reduction of man power. Now if these man power was geographically scarred then joining hands with nearby countries was the only option left.
  • The Europe realize that post World war their growth reduced and other developed countries like USA has gained the dominance and pressure was created from the western side. The alone they can do nothing therefore speaking together and for each other was the only option left,
  • The mutual benefits of all the countries can be seen . However opting this process was a difficult one as to make all the nation as one and having one currency and one governing body was initially difficult but was the need of the moment.

The Four countries involved were

  • Belgium
  • Netherlands
  • Italy
  • Luxembourg

Post word war the countries were resourceful in

Belgium was in Banking and business i.e.. money as a resource

Netherlands was in industries and farming i.e.. human resource

Italy was in infrastructure i.e. serving society and sustainable development

Luxembourg was in agriculture and rivers i.e.. in primary and water resource

Hence if all these come up together to be one the economic condition would be stable and they will be able to grow in a better and efficient manner. Moreover they can prepare themselves for misfortune and pressure conducted by the US government.

How this system is different from other not following it :

  • The countries forming one union and governed by one body eliminated the competition and create the common market whereas the countries not following this concept will not be as economic stable as these companies are.
  • The development of the countries forming this association cannot be equally developed whereas the other side the countries can developed accordingly.
  • For example the Germany was the part of this association and France used its dominance over Germany by making it on cooperation of steel and iron whereas no dominance by other countries in non association.
  • The countries forming association can prepare them self for the next upcoming war because of mixed efforts whereas the non association one will be weakening themselves.
  • The making of one currency as a whole is a difficult task whereas nothing to be done in the other case.

Hence the formation of this community for the mutual benefit by the European countries was the urge at that time. As post World War the countries were economically unstable and to come back in the fight and development this was the most important requirement i.e.. joining hands with the neighboring counties.
