ANSWER :
The chemical and radiological WMD and the biological weapons
both are the roots of immense destruction and have their own
effects. Both of these kinds of weapons were being used ever since
the World War-2. Later, in many conventions both of these
destructive weapons were banned. Even after the these were banned,
still in the recent times, the chemical weapons were used in
Syria.
1. THE EFFECTS OF CHEMICAL AND RADIOLOGICAL WMD
:
- The Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) are composed of
biological, chemical and radiological which have the potential to
destroy the entire place including human beings, other creatures
present there, buildings etc.
- As their name suggests these weapons have the ability to bring
mass destruction ending many lives and the habitat around. They are
not just responsible for death but sometimes cause serious long
term effects which makes the survivors life hell.
- These weapons are so powerful and destructive that they can
possibly damage the entire biosphere, the natural structures such
as mountains, the man made structures such as buildings and houses,
and most importantly the humam being himself.
- These weapons have various physical, physiological,
psychological, biological, effects.
- PHYSICAL : The principle physical effects depend upon the size,
structure, design and altitude of the weapon. The common physical
effect include blast, thermal radiation (heat), and nuclear
radiation.
- BIOLOGICAL : Both the flash burns and fire burns have the
ability to bring damage to the entire place, its weather and
environment. All the objects which are close to these weapons are
destroyed and damaged. They have the capability to destroy the
entire biosphere.
- PHYSIOLOGICAL : The physiological effects of nuclear weapons
include various lung damages, tissue disruptions which can lead to
severe hemorrhage, eardrum rupture etc. These effects are caused
due to thermal radiation, static overpressure. Human body is
comparitively more resistant to these static oerpressures as
compared to the structures such as buildings etc.
- PSYCHOLOGICAL : Thre are times when these weapons cause long
term serious illness to the survivors which takes their whole life
to recover. This can cause serious physchological issues such as
PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and other mental illnesses as
well.
2. THE EFFECTS OF BIOLOGICAL WEAPONS :
- The biological weapons are the weapons which include harmful
toxins or live agents which have the ability to cause a serious
illness to the person in contact with the weapon and can
ulltimately lead to death.
- These live agents present in these biological weapons are
various fungi, bacteria and viruses whereas the toxins present in
these biological weapons are the poisons released by various plants
and animals.
- Thes viruses and bacteria can spread to long distances and can
cause a serious issue to the person if inhaled. None of our five
physical senses have the ability to detect these viruses.
- These viruses have life cycles which means they can grow and
reproduce, and hence can be highly dangerous to the people close to
the place where the weapon is denoted.
- The toxicity of biological agents depend on race, sex, age, and
various other factors and hence is not the same for everyone; each
individual may be affected differently.
Based on these above mentioned effects, it can be concluded that
the WMD {Weapons of Mass Destruction} can cause the highest
possible damage not just to the human beings but to the entire
biosphere and habitat. The man-made structures, the natural
structures, animals, human beings and all other creatures and
materials in contact or closer to this weapon are entirely damaged
in every form. Such a weapon is capable of bringing an end to
humankind and a lifetime damage to all the important resources on
this Earth. There are people and places who have seen the worst of
these weapons and we as a nation have to work together to bring an
end to this mass destruction of humankind and other valuable
resources.
