The ADA has undoubtedly cost money for most employers. Whether they have to remodel their bathrooms, install elevators, widen their hallways, allow work-from home, change shifts, or provide special equipment like ergonomic chairs or expensive computer programs that translate type to speech, the cost is real. Let's talk about whether this is fair. Should private employers be forced to provide these accommodations to disabled employees? This is really a social cost after all, right? Shouldn't the employee be the one who has to provide what it takes to do the job? Or maybe the government? Why should private employers have to bear this cost?

- ADA prohibits discrimination against people who have disabilities and not against them who are less qualified or underqualified to do that job. As per the ADA of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 employer cannot discriminate against employee or applicant based on clear and comprehensive disabilities only not qualified. ADA states clearly that only qualified candidates with disabilities cannot be discriminated. Example: A software engineer with higher qualification than any other applicants cannot be recruited because he has lost both legs in an accident and cannot perform all his duties without a wheelchair?
The private employer has to hire such qualified candidate regardless of their disabilities and forced to provide them with proper accommodation to perform their duties. When it comes to the customer they don't think that person with disabilities should be given such discount or free product they created the same product/service and charge the same to all customers regardless of their disabilities.
- The social cost is when the company do something for social betterment, giving accommodation to the disabled employee is their mandatory duty.
- Disables and regular employees are given the same amount of salary packages and benefit it's not that disabled are given higher wage to compensate for their accommodation in the company so that they don't need to bear that expense.
- Government don't need to bear that cost since employees are not working for them and for a respective private employer who is going to benefit from that employee work and not the government.
-The private employer needs to bear the cost of accommodation provided to disables employees it's their responsibility to provide certain accommodation since the candidate is working for them and they can analyse what kind of hardship is going to be for a candidate who is going to work for them. It should be done by them to make sure that the same level of productivity is generated, employers know how to make amends to the workplace to suit candidate and employer both.
