Search engines, Internet users, and webmasters are
involved in a symbiotic, three-way relationship.
First of all, let's understand, what are all they:
- Search Engine: A search engine is a piece of
software that is made to carry out a search related to web to
search the WWW in a systematic manner.
- Webmaster: They monitor its performance with
search engines, its functionality, speed and design. They even keep
track of the contents it is showing, campaigns and marketing
efforts they are taking.
- Users: They are the people who use the
Internet worldwide.
Now let's understand the symbolic relationship between search
engines, webmasters, and users:
- Crawler searches the Internet for content, looking over the
content for each URL they find.
- Index stores and organize the content found during the crawling
process.
- Once a page is in the index, the result is displayed as a
result of relevant queries.
- Rank provides a piece of results that will best describe and
answer the searcher's query.
- It means that contents are sorted from the most relevant to
least relevant.
