4 youAn angel investor is a person who makes initial investment in the company for its startup, usually for company’s equity or debt. They usually form a group amongst themselves to share all the research and pool their funds amongst themselves.

While evaluating the new venture, an angel investor usually expect to earn a high rate of return that the usually donot earn by investing in any other medium. A part from this, they do consider the management team, the business plans, business structure, oppertunity to be involved, in case the business does not work out then their exit , etc.

If you want someone to invest in your company, you need to sell your idea. Therefore, a Caribbean entrepreneur should follow the following steps when it meets the prospective investor:

1. Tell the truth about yourself and your company to the investor.

2. Accept criticism

3. Donot oversell your idea

4. You should be strong on your points and have a clear picture in your mind about what you want out of your company
