Question 1 - What's the goal, requirement, and regulation for enterprise architecture?

Answer

What is enterprise architecture?

Enterprise architecture is the progression by which organizations regulate and organize IT infrastructure to bring into line with business goals. These policies support digital transformation, IT growth and the upgrading of IT as a department.

Enterprise architecture (EA) is the preparation of analysing, scheming, planning and applying enterprise analysis to effectively execute on business strategies. EA helps businesses structure IT projects and policies to achieve desired business results and to stay on top of industry drifts and troubles using architecture principles and practices, a process also known as enterprise architectural planning (EAP).

EA began in the 1960s, born from “various architectural manuscripts on Business Systems Planning (BSP) by Professor Dewey Walker

Goals of Enterprise Architecture(EA)

EA is directed by the organization’s business requirements — to help in laying out in what way information, business and technology be combined together. This has become a significance requirement for businesses that are trying to keep up with new technologies such as the cloud computing, Internet of Things(IoT), Machine Learning and other evolving IT trends that will increase upliftment of digital transformation.

The process is driven by a “comprehensive picture of an entire enterprise from the perspectives of owner, designer and manufacturer. Other frameworks, does not include a recognized documentation structure; instead of it , they intended to offer a more all-inclusive view of the enterprise..

A good EAP strategy considers the newest innovations in business processes, organizational structure, information systems and technologies. It will also include standard language and best practices for business processes, including analyzing where processes can be combined or eradicated throughout the organization. The ultimate goal of any EAP strategy is to improve the efficiency, timeliness and dependability of business information.

Requirements of Enterprise Architecture(EA)

Enterprise architectures that are developed without selecting an suitable operating model will not work for sure. An operating model has two dimensions:

1. Business process standardization

2. Business process integration,

both can be denoted as the x and y axis of a matrix.

Process standardization delivers efficiency and predictability across the company profile. Integration on the other hand links the efforts of organizational units through shared data.

There are many frameworks for defining Enterprise Architectures including:

· The Zachman Framework for Enterprise Architectures

· The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF)

· Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA)

· NIST Enterprise Architecture Model

.

Regulation for Enterprise Architecture(EA)

It must include the followings –

Strategic planning

• Scoping, constraints, project and systems requirements

• High-level business process and object or data model

• Current, target and intermediate target architectures and applications

· Use of general rule templates can help a lot.

Benefits of Enterprise Architecture(EA)

EA can offer support for re-designs and re-organization, especially during major organizational changes, mergers or acquisitions. It’s also useful for bringing additional discipline into the organization by standardizing and consolidating processes for additional consistency.

EA is also castoff in system development, IT management and decision-making, and IT risk management to remove faults, system let downs and security breaks. It can also help businesses steer complex IT structures or to make IT more accessible to other business units.

The biggest benefits of EAP include:

· Permitting more exposed collaboration between IT and business units

· Giving business the capability to rank investments

· Making it easier to evaluate existing architecture against long-term goals

· Establishing processes to evaluate and procure technology

· Giving comprehensive view of IT architecture to all business units outside of IT

· Providing a benchmarking framework to compare results against other organizations or standards

Question 2 How to survey the performance?

Performance Survey

The performance of each employee should be regularly analysed. Especially annual performance reviews should go into detail and discuss the employee's work. This is critical to confirm an connection between employee and management, and to confirm check that everyone is still on the same page and give employees an honest assessment of their performance. Only through honest feedback can one work on various problems, progress performance and endure to grow professionally. Performance evaluation survey comprises set of questions that help an organization properly appraise how prolific an employee is and also measure an employee's work and results based on their responsibilities at work.
