Compare and Contrast the ADDIE Model to the dic* and Carey Model. What is fundamentally the same with each model and likewise, what is different? Identify at least one advantage and one challenge that each ID model presents when compared to each other.( I could not spell out 4 letter word they deem it as innappropriate)

Solutions

Expert Solution

ADDIE model is the traditional and system ID model that consists of 5 phases- Analysis, Design, development, implementation and evaluation. The Dic* and Carey model promotes a "system" view of instruction instead of viewing instruction as a sum of isolated work.

Similarities between two models-

Both model share common concentration on input, output and whole design of a curriculum.

Differences between two models-

ADDIE model is set up to evaluate in fifth and final phase in its approach whereas the Dic* and Carey model has evaluation throughout each phase of the method.

ADDIE model has a linear approach whereas Dic* and model has a iterative approach.

Advantage of ADDIE model over Dic* and Carey model-

It follows a linear approach and has more applications.

Disadvantage of ADDIE model over Dic* and Carey model.

It is more expensive.

Advantage of Dic* and Carey model over ADDIE model-

It does not stiffs creativity.

Disadvantage of Dic* and Carey model over ADDIE model-

It is more time consuming.
