n your initial post, address the following: What is Humanism and what affect and effect does it have on Christian Worldview?
, Christianity and humanism, can be seen to be still present within us, our secular Sodom is still worth preserving. Also radio news pundits, men who run as they listen, are sometimes heard referring to both Christianity and humanism 's timeless ideals. And then, for a significant percentage of those who refer to them, it is uncertain whether these two definitions constitute something quite definite. For anybody who needs a prayer wheel, these are merely blessed words. It is not quite clear what would be preserved if our society were, in the end, to be able to carry on Christianity or humanism to another generation. Moreover, what aspects of Christianity or humanism could help preserve humanity is similarly uncertain. There is something pathetic about the late realisation that Christianity itself is not something for the masses and that humanism for the cultivated few is not just an optional privilege.
Indeed, the feeling that there is a note of condescension in the voices of those who, in passing, give lip service to either Christianity or humanism is often difficult to escape. We sense the unstated presumption that if we can only get out of our present predicament with the assistance of Christianity and humanism, we will be able to return in good time to the situation in which either Christianity or humanism will not have to bother us.
The source of the vagueness attached to the references to Christianity and humanism of the ordinary educated man is not simple indolence or the love of catchwords. It is not straightforward to distinguish Christianity and humanism. Their followers themselves are broken. In comparison, both campaigns have had a long tradition in which a wide spectrum of thoughts and events have occurred.
The implication is that Christianity or humanism persists in as many ways as anti-Christianity or anti-humanism persists. However, to arrive at a working description of either Christianity or humanism, it is not appropriate to delineate all forms of Christianity or humanism.
