The urban youth unemployment is growing day by day. It has reached to a decade high mark in most of the nations. Main reason behind this growing urban youth unemployments are:

• Automations : With the passage of time the degree of automation which is done in all work of our life has increased. Same is true with various manufacturing and other industries as well. With the advancement of technology for a given amount of work number of people needed has been decreased by many fold which in turn decreased the number of jobs in the industry, even though productivity of the system has increased.
• Lack of right Skill Set : Another major issue for increase of urban youth unemployment is the lack of relevant skill set in new generation youth. They are not been taught with the correct skillsets which are needed to be productive and get employment in the industry.
• Education System and its irrelavance : With the passage of time technology is ever changing in few years its getting change to more advance version of it, but our education system is still teaching our youth 1990's and 1980's infomation, which gets irrelevant the moment he comes our of school. He needs to start from beginning after his school, it seems whatever he studied in last 10-12 years was not of that much use in his current job or what is being needed in current industry.
• Population is growing mostly in developing nation : Another reason of unemployment is increasing population growth rate of most of the nation specially developing nation like India, maldives and African countries but jobs are not getting increased at the same rate, on the contrary its decreasing because of advancement of technology and automations.
• Lack of Entrepreneurship Skill : Current generation youth is also shying away from trying anything new and starting his own business because they are not been taught such things in their school, on the contrary school made them even less confident in this front.

Few strategies by which it can be reduced are as follows:

• Encourage Entrepreneurship from childhood
• All secondary schools should have an active partnership with employers
• Earlier carrier guidance
• Modernizing workforce in the tech which is being used in enterprises
• Providing fair opportunities to the disadvantaged youth
• A national level scheme to train youth with updated information and skills needed for his carrier development.
