Out of the 3 approaches: 1. A centralized department that has experts on staff who charter and lead projects throughout the organization, 2. A centralized department that only conducts training in process improvement and maintains the project management office. All projects are led by line staff that has been trained in using various process improvement tools. 3. The use of outside consultants to lead process improvement projects, which is the best approach recommended to a hospital with 50 employees who is struggling to meet financial goals?
The best-suited method will be=2. A centralized department that only conducts training in process improvement and maintains the project management office. All projects are led by line staff that has been trained in using various process improvement tools.
Reason = As there are almost 50 staff members who are working in the unit thus the best approach will be to have a centralized person who will provide the training to the different heads or employees in the different project activities and they will perform the tasks as assigned to them. While the project management office will monitor these activities which are performed by the line staff and provide them feedback and suggestions for the improvement in case of any deviation from the plan.
The main reason for the selection of this method is that this will facilitate the different line staff to operate as per the requirement of their specific department and the combined effect of the efforts of all the line staff will yield better work and project management and this will also result in improved efficiency and productivity causing the accomplishment of the project i.e. to overcome the financial difficulties of the healthcare unit.
