Finally, doctors provide knowledge and skill, but patients make the decisions – transform this to team leaders provide the guidance and direction, but team members drive the outcomes – what are your thoughts on this approach?
A Thumbs Up! Would be really helpful for me. If you have any questions, please leave a comment and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
My thoughts about these approaches follow:
It is true that leaders provide guidance and direction but team members drive the outcomes.
In actuality, all the work is done by the whole team, and they are the actual drivers of the outcome. it would be dependent upon the team members whether the team would be able to achieve the objective effectively and efficiently or not.
It is because of this, that there is a need for team leaders in order to influence the behavior of the whole team.
If the team leader is providing proper guidance and supervision to the team members, and his success in influencing their behavior towards the achievement of the organizational objective, and they are willing to do work because of this, then the organization will be able to meet its goals and objectives on time.
Indeed, it is the team members who drive the outcomes. The whole team works for the achievement of goals. They are the ones who put in the effort and hard works in the project and make it happen. Outcomes are the result of their work. If they are doing the work with optimum satisfaction and happiness, then the outcome would be better as compared to the situation where the team members are not satisfied and happy.
A leader can only provide guidance and supervision to the team members, but the actual work is still being done by them.
Thus, it is the responsibility of team leaders to properly supervise and guide their team members to work for organizational objectives with an optimum amount of satisfaction and a positive work environment.
