Role of human Resources department in aligning diversity initiatives with business objectives is one great challenge in today’s business:
1. Diversity: Diversity in an organization means a group of people with difference in socio, economic and political background working together for a common objective.
2. Creating awareness: One of the main roles of HR is to create awareness about the importance of Diversity and Inclusion in an organization. Diverse organizations has better possibility for increased production/outcome due to diversified thinking’s and this comes as a challenge
3. Buy in from Leadership team : Convincing the leadership team on the diversity initiatives and to get a go ahead from them for further activities is another big challenge
4. Recruitment: Human resource team should also come up with the recruitment strategy for diversity hiring.
Example: % of diversity and inclusion to be achieved in an organization.
5. Training: There would be many diversified people working in an organization with cultural difference, political difference and socio economic difference. Hence a training session for all employees is a must to know how to work hand in hand.
