5). Does the temperature of a body depend on its size? Does the amount of heat that a body can absorb depend of its size?
Yes, the temperature of a body depend on its size.
Consider a example
a half-full beaker of water will reach 50 0C more quickly than a full beaker if both start from the same temperature and energy is supplied to both at the same rate. Similarly, a beaker of oil will reach a given temperature more quickly than a similar beaker of water.
Obviously, the temperature of a body depends not only on the amount of energy supplied to it, but also on its size and nature.
Part 2)
Yes the amount of heat that a body can absorb depend of its size.
Heat is a form of energy that causes a rise in temperature when added or a fall in temperature when removed.
Consider Specific Heat Capacity and Heat Capacity.
In order to raise the temperature of a body, i.e. to make it
hotter, we must supply energy to it. The addition of a given amount
of energy does not always result in the same rise in
temperature.
So it is the reason.
