Whether or not to incorporate English writing with Mathematics has always been a controversial topic. People from Mathematics domain argue that including writing while solving Maths can slow down the learning of the students. While English teachers argue that incorporating English sentences with Maths can give a detailed explanation to the children.
For example, consider that a class is taught probability.Under normal circumstances, a student would be required to solve the equation, and just get to the answer. But if English is incorporated with the answer, then the answer would begin with the importance of probability, the assumptions and postulates, followed by the solution.
Another example would be while proving a theorem, say Pythagoras theorem, it would make more sense to explain the reason why hypotenuse*hypotenuse = one side*one side + other side* other side. One would also like to explain in English language as to what a hypotenuse is, and why the pythagoras theorem is important, and why it needs to be used.
Some of the challenges that a person may face in incorporating maths and english is that it requires a lot of theoretical subject knowledge. Maths is always thought to have just a solution based approach, and not an explanation based. Thus, it gets more difficult for student.
Irrespective of the challenges, this is an option that the education system must adopt. Students might have to give an extra effort to learn the theory as well as numerical part of a given maths problem, but it will only deepen their perspective, and they will have an in-detail subject knowledge.
