Investigate and create a list of both informal and formal deviance (things that were/are against the law as well as those against social norms). Identify at a solution/technique/action that was used both historically and used in modern times, to control/react to the deviant behavior you listed. Discuss what the differences are and if the modern solutions are more effective than historical solutions and why modern solutions replaced historical ones.
Formal deviance means the violation of laws along with social norms. It includes murder, robbery, torture, stealing, hurting others, using abusive language and so on. It is a kind of offense and it is always punishable.
On the other hand, informal deviance is the violation of the social and community norms. It may not violate laws and order. As for example, there is the traditional community profession that all the community members attend prayer at five times every day. There one may not attend prayer for a single time. It is a kind of informal deviance. Besides, one may leave his parental religion and takes other religion.
To prevent formal deviance the following steps should be taken:
To prevent the informal deviance, the community should have dynamic culture. They should not use any type of conservative attitudes and prejudices. The community leaders should consider the opinions of all.
