What approach would you take to address the lack of any structured and consistent approach to performance appraisals as well as fixing the IT staff that have not had a performance appraisal in the last three years?

Solutions

Expert Solution

The approach would be collecting the past data and then creating a structured approach to performance appraisal. The past data would include the number of employees, job evaluation, experience, the percentage given as apprisal, key points that were taken into consideration, and industry standard. Based on the finding, a new structured approach would be created that would be followed afterward. The changes would be brought from time to time. The new structured approach would align with the growth of the company and the industry standard.

IT department was not provided with apprisal in the last three years. It means they would be having high expectations from the management. In case those expectations are not met, there could be a high turnover rate. Hence, the achievements of the IT department in the last three years, their workload, their experiences, and their expectations should be evaluated. Then a comparison should be made with industry standard. The appraisal should be then rolled out accordingly.
