STAFF DEVELOPMENT PROCESS
Is the overall development of an individual nurse to an efficient team member in order to provide quality health care, it includes orientaion, inservice education and continuing education. In each level specific methods and techniques are used.
Education: includes theorectical and practical training provided to nurses to develop their knowledge, attitude and skills.
Preceptorship/ mentorship: preceptor or mentor is a trainer who helps nurses to orient, teach and improve their skills in a specific clinical setting
Small projects: conducts studies to find out solutions for the problems in the field of nursing

Education | Effective in teaching methods for new nurses in the hospitals to teach basics of nursing care, vision and mission of the hospitals, disease conditions, policies and protocols of the hospital or specific health care setting. It helps to develop, knowledge, attitude and skills and morals to provide high quality nursing care. this method can be useful in inservice education programmes and implementing new advancement in nursing. |

perceptionship/ mentorship | Nurse develops attitude and skills essential for patient care, learns directly from live situations, so the nurse will be able to clear her doubts in the initial stage,mentor can monitor the mentee continously and plan a one to one training. It is helpful in assinging task according to the capality of each staff nurses. | Needed good interpersonal relationship. Also helps to find out solutions for matters concerns patient care, effectiveness of newly implemented or ongoing techniques and policies. | Nurse with good idea of resarch methology is needed. Each methods are effective in a specific area of nursing field. So implementing in a correct manner is helpful for the overall development of nursing profession.
