As a researcher, you develop a drug which blocks the ribosomal subunits from coming together. What would be the implications to the cell? You also develop a drug that blocks the cis face of the golgi. What would happen to the cell?
If a drug binds to the 30S ribosomal subunit, it blocks the initiation of translation in cell or blocks attachment of tRNA to ribosome.
If the drug binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit of the cell, it blocks the release of tRNA and prevent continuation of protein synthesis or prevents the formation of peptide bond followed by blocking of protein synthesis in the cell.
If a drug blocks the cis face of the golgi, it prevents the movement of the lipids and proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum to the golgi apparatus.
