Solution:
The statistical process control is very useful for operations management where the operations professionals canmeasure the process and determine if the process is operating within control or not by assessing the control limits of the process. Hence, the process is to be controlled based on the results of thestatistical process control to ensure that the process is kept in control.
If the process is adjusted improperly or the process control is ignored and allowed the presence of out of control elements as well then the process is destined to give us unreliable results. THese results may not have much value for us because of the process being out of control. This is why it becomes important to check for the process continuosly for its control and we must ensure that the process remain in control with appropriate control charts.
With improper process reporting the results obtain if not checked may lead the business in a wrong direction and hence is a very huge expense for the business because the progress the business was making was based on the falsified process control reports. Hence, the repurcussions of a bad process can be felt by the entire operations department of the organization.
These are the possible outcomes of inforing out of control items in a process control.
