It is a known fact that sleep is important in order for us to thrive in our environment. There has been research that seeks to understand how sleep affects our day-to-day activities.
Find a research article that describes one of the negative effects of being sleep deprived. Then write at least a three page report about this study, their methods, participants, and findings. Describe the study’s limitations as well as any future applications (see unit 1 for guidelines on how to review this study).
In the conclusion of the paper, you should indicate whether these findings have ever affected you, or someone you know, and what the steps taken were to remedy the situation.

Negative effects of being sleep deprived :
1.Problem of memory issues:
When a person sleeps , during that point of time brain restores information and processing takes place . If deprived , it puts a negative impcat .
2. Problem in Concentration :
Not getting enough rest might land uo the person having concentration problems.
3. Prone to accidents :
Due to lack of sleep , the body gets drowsy during the day time and increases the chances of accidents .
4. Weight Gain :
Chemicals signalling to the brain are of off balance. Hence , people overeats and that is when increase in weight comes into account .
5. Maintaining a proper balance of the body :
Sleep deprivation can lead to poor balance of the body . (specially the joints ) Thus causing injuries in the body .
6. Increases the risk of having heart disease :
Since lack of sleep increases the blood pressure and higher level of chemicals leading to inflammation . This in turn leads to heart disease.
7. Increasing the possibility of having diabetes
It increases the level of Insulin in our body , which in turn results in Diabetes .
The participants of the study would be insomanic people
Insomanic people are considered to be , the ones who do not feel sleepy at night and can remain awake the entire night . This is not a healthy lifestyle .
Method of studying them would be like determing the performance level of the insomanic people .
Findings of the study
Hence it has been found that 21 - 37 % of the adult population are affected by the Insomania . Symptoms of Insomania are : feeling excessive drowsy during day time , lack of energy and motivation , mood swings , frustration , stomach and head aches etc.
Study's limitation
It is restricted to a particular age group. As it is commonly found among a certain age group.
Future Applications
1.Caffeine should not be taken frequently , as excessive intake of caffeine deprives a person from sleep.
2. Power naps should be taken in between the works , in order to boost the energy level of the person.
3. A proper REM cycle should be completed . That is , having a proper 7 hours sleep at a stretch is mandatory .
4. Increasing nightly sleep time is a compulsion for healthy lifestyle of an individual.
