How would you respond to the following questions posed by concerned parents?
a. Sammie, my pre-schooler, will not eat vegetables except French fries. I am considering "bribing him" to eat other vegetables. What is your advice about this? Why?
b. My 15 year old daughter sleeps to the last minute and barely has time to get dressed before it is time to leave for school. She says she skips breakfast to control calories to not gain weight? Should I worry that she isn't eating breakfast most days? Why? She eats a good lunch at school.
c. Our son is 16 years of age. He seems to be rarely home for meals. He seems to be using much of his allowance to buy snack foods- pop, chips, candy bars, energy drinks, etc. What can we do to help him eat more nutritiously?
A) For Sammie I would suggest that you give her vegetable deeps along with French fries. Start that schedule and then gradually make it on alternative days and then reduce the days that you give her French fries and search more recipes that are tasty and have vegetable in it like for example you can give her mixed fruits and vegetable juice as it tastes amazing.
b) The breakfast is the most important meal of the day because your body is hungry after 8-9 hours of sleep and if you skip.the breakfast your body will have lack of nutrition for again 3-4 hours until.you take your lunch and to compensate that body loses muscles. So, tell her to take the heavy breakfast.
C) You should be very strict on this matter as the snack mostly have saturated fatty acids and that is very bad for health, so what you can do is reduce his allowances so he is forced to eat at home. Try to make delicious dishes when he is at home on holidays so that he is lured to eat at home.
