Q: What is your favorite program or initiative launched by the de Blasio administration? (250 word minimum)*
Q: Why do you want to work in the Mayor’s Office? (250 word minimum)*
Help me come with a different perspective, I'm struggling with ideas. Thank You!
Ans 1. The favorite initiative by De Blasio
A) Good For Me, Good For My City
It is the campaign by De Blasio which united several corporations with the aim to support the employee volunteer engagement and mentorship of high school students. This program is the backbone of the initiative taken by De Blaise to promote the Youth and Employment enhancement.
B) NYC Youth Mentoring
One of the most favored education programs by De Blasio is Nyc Youth Mentoring Initiative. This program aims to provide opportunities for the high school students of New York to receive education and mentoring guidance. Through this Initiative, the mayor plans to open 400 new mentoring programs in high school by 2022.
C) NYC Neighborhood Pillars Program
It is a housing program that aims to finance the acquisition and preservation of 1000+ houses, also including rented or owned, by 2026. For the funding, they have reached to Community Preservation Corporation, Wells Fargo Foundation, HDC and HPD in coordination with Neighborhood Restore HDFC. This program will greatly be beneficial for those we seek for affordable houses.
D) $7.9 Million Program
This was the time when no one stood with the immigrants and then New York comes out to save the day by introducing the $7.9 Million program. This program aims to provide 'Navigation Hub' for the immigrants in each of the five Boroughs. These hubs will provide them with the necessary education about their rights and also assist them in legal matters.
Ans 2. Being able to work at the Mayor's office is a great opportunity. If one is very concerned about their community and has many different ideas to make the lives of the people better then no place is better than the Mayor's office.
You can aid in advancing policies that can eliminate the existing issues of the community. This will also help in improving your administrative skills and learn how to be a better leader.
The Mayor and the people working with him/her have great responsibilities toward the city. Through this opportunity, you will get to experience how to be responsible and be accountable for the decisions you take.
As it is a government job, you will also have many perks that come with the position. The reputation and the connections you make are also quite different.
