a) A box that weighs 8.20kg was slid down a platform at an inclination of 45.0o to the horizontal (see figure below). The kinetic friction coefficient is 0.26. The box has a rope connected to it which is coiled around a disc that weighs 9.46kg and is on a fixed axis at O. The disc has a moment of inertia of 0.500kg.m2 with respect to the rotational axis. i) The moment of inertia of the disc is given by ? = 1 2 ?? 2 . Calculate the radius R. ii) Draw a diagram showing the forces acting on the box and the disc. iii) Calculate the acceleration of the box down the platform. iv) What is the tension of the rope?
